The Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia State University Alumni Association (VSUAA TAC) is dedicated to fostering a vibrant and connected Trojan community. Our mission is to strengthen the bonds between VSU alumni, current students, and the university itself through active engagement, service, and support. We are committed to celebrating our shared history, promoting lifelong connections, and empowering future generations of Trojans. By providing opportunities for networking, volunteering, and giving back, we aim to support the ongoing success and prosperity of Virginia State University. As we honor our Alma Mater, we work collectively to ensure that VSU remains a beacon of excellence and a place where memories, traditions, and Trojan pride continue to thrive.
VSUAA TAC PURPOSE
The Tidewater Chapter of the Virginia State University Alumni Association is proud to represent Trojan alumni throughout the Hampton Roads area. We are committed to upholding the legacy of excellence that defines Virginia State University by engaging our alumni, supporting students, and advancing the mission of our alma mater.
Our Objectives
At the heart of our work are the following key objectives:
Unifying the Trojan Family
We serve as a unifying force for alumni in the Tidewater region, fostering strong connections among graduates, former students, friends of the University, and VSU personnel.
Leading with Purpose
Our chapter operates under the authority of the Virginia State University Alumni Association, ensuring that all activities align with the mission, values, and guidelines of the greater organization.
Mobilizing Resources for VSU
We actively seek financial support and other resources from alumni, friends of the University, and community partners to sustain scholarships and key initiatives.
Recruiting the Next Generation
We proudly recruit and encourage prospective students to consider Virginia State University continuing a tradition of academic and leadership excellence.
Strengthening University Relations
We maintain a constructive and collaborative relationship with VSU by supporting alumni programs and initiatives that reflect the University’s mission.
Championing Educational Advancement
We harness the collective strength of our alumni community to promote access to education and lifelong learning.
Promoting Trojan Pride
We celebrate and encourage a strong sense of loyalty, pride, and love for Virginia State University among our alumni and the broader community.
Providing Student Support
Through fundraising and community efforts, we provide tuition assistance and scholarships to current and future VSU students.
Fostering Alumni Fellowship
We create opportunities for alumni to engage, connect, and collaborate; building lasting relationships and a vibrant chapter network.
