Donate books from December 20, 2025- March 1, 2026

On Friday, November 21, members of the VSUAA Tidewater Alumni Chapter spent their evening participating in our annual Thanksgiving community service activity with the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia.

VSUAA Tidewater Chapter proudly demonstrated Trojan pride and community spirit during VSU’s 2025 Homecoming celebration. On Friday, October 24, immediately following the Homecoming Pep Rally, chapter members distributed 25 care packages to current VSU students as part of our #TrojansCare Packages VSU Homecoming 25' Campaign.

Virginia State University is proud to announce that it has received the largest single donor gift in its 143-year history. Author and philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has gifted $50 million to the University, marking her second historic contribution to VSU in just five years.

On September 25 the Chapter exceeded our fundraising goal for our VSU Homecoming 25' #TrojansCare Packages campaign. The goal was to raise $800 to provide care packages to 25 students at VSU during Homecoming week.

As proud alumni, we believe in giving back and pouring into the next generation of Trojans who walk the same campus we once called home. This year, we are collecting donations to create and deliver 25 care packages to current VSU students during Homecoming Week.These thoughtfully curated packages will include  snacks, beverages, toiletries, and essential dorm goodies. Filled with items that bring comfort, convenience, and a little extra joy during a busy semester.

Virginia State University is proud to announce that it is ranked #11 in the country in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 rankings of the top Historically Black Colleges and Universities. VSU climbed 12 spots from its 2025 ranking of #23, the largest increase of all HBCUs featured on the list, marking a significant milestone for the University and its commitment to being one of the nation’s premier HBCUs.

Out of 77 eligible public and private HBCUs, VSU tied for 11th overall (public and private) and tied for 5th among public HBCUs.
