VSUAA Tidewater Gifted 25 Trojans with Care Packages at Homecoming

VSUAA Tidewater Chapter proudly demonstrated Trojan pride and community spirit during VSU’s 2025 Homecoming celebration. On Friday, October 24, immediately following the Homecoming Pep Rally, chapter members distributed 25 care packages to current VSU students as part of our #TrojansCare Packages VSU Homecoming 25' Campaign.

In addition to the planned distribution, the chapter extended our outreach by providing extra packages and gift bags to additional students and prospective Trojans who attended Homecoming events. We were even able to visit the dorm of a student-athlete that is currently injured and not able to enjoy the Homecoming festivities and provide him some Trojan joy and a basket.

This initiative was a reflection of the Tidewater Chapter’s successful fundraising effort, our chapter proudly exceeded the $800 goal to fund this campaign. The funds were used to assemble care packages filled with snacks, 2 guft cards, beverages, toiletries, and other dorm essentials—items chosen to bring comfort, convenience, and encouragement during the semester.

The volunteer committee had an incredible time putting these baskets and bags together with love. “As proud alumni, we believe in giving back and pouring into the next generation of Trojans who walk the same campus we once called home,” Shalyn Moore.

Through this initiative, the Tidewater Chapter continues to embody the true spirit of the Trojan family. Uplifting, connecting, and supporting students as they pursue academic excellence and personal growth.
